Another Edward Snowden Update as the Chess Game Continues

First, you buy a prepaid phone… then make sure Jason Bourne isn’t following you…

In the continuing odyssey of the World’s Most Infamous Whistleblower, Edward Snowden reapplied for asylum with the Russian government a few days ago.  International reactions were abuzz with speculation as to the outcome while the American response was pretty much as expected, with Russia still trying to maintain at least a facade of neutrality on the matter.

The game changed, however, when Glenn Greenwald- a columnist with the Guardian- revealed in an interview that Snowden was in possession of documents that showed how a person could avoid or even duplicate NSA surveillance.

Greenwald is actually quoted as saying that Snowden is in possession of “literally thousands of documents” that constitute “basically the instruction manual for how the NSA is built.”

According to Greenwald, Snowden is quite aware of the extreme measures the US may feel forced to take in this situation.  Not to worry; Greenwald indicates that if anything unfortunate were to happen to Snowden, lots of stuff would suddenly find its way into public spaces.

Knight threatens Bishop.  King exposed.
